Planning and Hosting a Summer Backyard Barbecue
Summer is a great time to go out and create a summer backyard barbecue. The garden is in full bloom, so the addition of fresh fruits and vegetables, homegrown herbs, and delicious, addicting salads is an excellent treat for the picnic eating crowd.
Here are a few ideas to help you plan your next get together with your close friends and family.
Make it Special
Go beyond your particular favorite and create situations that are uniquely yours. Serve only the favorite choices, and be sure to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather, will you will. There is very little to do but enjoy your preparedness and take time to socialize. You will find that all of your guests will be excited to see how many planned activities are still ahead for the day of your pour and subsequent party.
Prepare Good Food
Be sure to supply lots of snacks and beverages, as well as an assortment of soft drinks. Rehearse the barbecue’s details so that your guests and you can look forward to the day of the great get together. Here is a small list to get you started on the do’s and don’ts for the perfect summer barbecue—Reserve a few hours for arrangement and cleanup. The day before is the ideal time to set the party up and clean the house. Prepare your serving tables and other party supplies. It is an exciting time to create your food menu.
Drink and Chill
Decide on a drinks menu. Put together fancy bottles or coolers for assorted cocktails, smoothies, or open container coffee and tea. The alcohol should be one of the staples of your menu. Wine is fun, and do have a small cooler. Don’t forget the soft drinks as well. If you drink single, make sure it has a breath of tea or coffee in it.
Ask Your Guest to Participate
Do you like to blindfold your guests while serving? Try soy candles, water in bottles, or even a floating candle on summer cocktails. Will your guest bring an item for the party? A guest may bring several food items but do not forget others.
Get an Alternative Location
Be prepared for the weather. Some days are swords over others, so some activities are better suited for sunny days or cloudy days. Talk to your guest by the first night to agreed-upon schedules for the party. This allows you to plan the day and to do your cleaning in advance. The utensils and plates, and napkins can temporarily be placed out for the tossing of food. Make small storage boxes for the drinks. Prepare to move your chairs and tables to the outside or to an area that can be shaded, so your guests do not feel the sun but enjoy their next party in the shade.
